The Evidentiary Strength of Blockchain Transactions as Electronic Evidence in the Indonesian Criminal Procedure Law System

This study examines the evidentiary strength of blockchain transaction data as electronic evidence within the Indonesian criminal procedure law system. The research aims to clarify the legal positioning and probative value of blockchain-based records in criminal proceedings, contributing to the development of digital evidence doctrine. A normative legal research method was applied using statutory and conceptual approaches, analyzing the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP) and the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE). The analysis focuses on blockchain transactions as legal concepts of electronic information supported by forensic interpretation. The study finds that blockchain data is admissible as electronic evidence but its evidentiary strength depends on authentication, integrity, and linkage to legal identity. The results imply the need for standardized blockchain forensic procedures in Indonesian criminal justice practice.
